5. Experimental Amplifier Platform - $299 This is a very versatile unit that may be configured in many ways by changing jumpers on the board. It is intended for someone who wants to experiment with many different amplifier topologies. It is presently configured to be functionally and audibly equivalent to the version 1.3 Active Output stage. To enhance the flexibility, each channel is on a separate board, so it is a two-board set. 6. Integrated Active Output - $199 This is a prototype of a design intended to provide very good sound at an affordable price. It uses a very different circuit from the standard Active Output stage and does not require output transformers. The unit is assembled and tested. The board includes both the amplifier and the power supply so a separate power supply is not needed. A second bare PC board is included so you may build a second unit sometime in the future.
